Ink Fix #9 Revealed

Ink Fix #9 went out around about the same time as our sense of normality– with COVID-19 sweeping the planet, the sensible thing to do is stay home and maintain a safe physical distance between acquaintances.

We thought it was time for an Introvert Party– where we all unite (separately) and have a party. Subscribers brought the music and the snacks, and the Ink Fix brought the alcohol.

When we started planning this box, we thought it would be a quirky little touch to thrown in a bottle of our favourite hand sanitizer (given that it’s alcohol-based, and we can’t exactly send out actual booze). Then the panic buying started, and suddenly we couldn’t get hand sanitizer in any brand no matter where we looked!

Though it’s not specifically relevant to the box, we’d like to take the chance to remind you that anti-bacterial hand sanitizer does not kill COVID-19, a virus. That should be obvious, but the completely stripped bare shelves everywhere have us wondering if a reminder is necessary for some people.

The good news though, is that coronaviridae are characterised by the lipid layer that encapsulates the virus. Wash your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds and you will disrupt that lipid layer, shredding the virus to pieces with your bare hands, and killing it and it’s chance to infect you and others. Be a badass! Wash your hands!
